Back Braces

Back Brace

A Back Brace can help unload some of the weight normally placed on the lower back and in the process, helps reduce pressure on the spine’s joints, discs, and muscles. By reducing spinal pressure, the back brace may decrease painful muscle tension that is a common protective reaction following an injury.

Signs and symptoms of back pain can include:

  • Muscle ache
  • Shooting or stabbing pain
  • Pain that radiates down your leg
  • Pain that worsens with bending, lifting, standing or walking
  • Pain that improves with reclining

  • Muscle or Ligament Strain – Repeated heavy lifting or a sudden awkward movement can strain back muscles and spinal ligaments.
  • Bulging or Ruptured Disks – Disks act as cushions between the bones (vertebrae) in your spine.
  • Arthritis – Osteoarthritis can affect the lower back.
  • Skeletal Irregularities – Generally not a condition until middle age, but it is when your spine curves to the side (scoliosis) and causes back pain.
  • Osteoporosis – The spine’s vertebrae can develop compression fractures if your bones become porous and brittle.
